Bioplasma Treatment (Plasma Energy)
Bioplasma is a cordless device powered by plasma energy (ionised atmospheric gas, the fourth state of matter) that needs no mains connection. As it ionises the gases in the air, it produces a fine arc directed at the target tissue.
The tip of the device creates a high-temperature electrical arc. When held at a set distance from the skin, this arc ionises the atmospheric gases and releases plasma energy, which sublimates keratinocytes in the outermost layer of the skin, turning the tissue directly from solid to gas.
As the treated tissue sublimates, unwanted heat is prevented from reaching surrounding tissue and the fat layer beneath the skin. The plasma energy stays within the tiny area the device targets and acts at a very superficial depth, making the procedure safe. It offers a non-surgical, bloodless and stitch-free treatment with refined aesthetic results.
Plasma energy can also be used on the abdomen. It is well suited to people with loose or cellulite-prone skin looking for a minimally invasive option, and to those with laxity around the waist and navel after rapid or significant weight loss.
The treatment suits most people, but it is not performed on areas with an active wound or infection, or during pregnancy. For one week beforehand, blood thinners, painkillers and alcohol should be avoided; if you take any medication, consult your specialist first.
